Leadership

I believe part of being a psychologist - beyond the usual scientist-practitioner model - includes advocating for yourself, your clients, your colleagues, and most importantly those who find it difficult to advocate for themselves. Many organizations have been built upon legacies or problematic thoughts and beliefs (see, APA's apology re: racism). I believe, the best place to begin implementing systems-level change is to begin working from the inside.

Here are few leadership positions I am/ was involved in.

  1. Student Section Co-Chair (2021-2023), International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS)

  2. Student Co-Chair (2020-2022), Research Methodology - Special Interest Group, ISTSS

  3. Student Representative (2019-2020), Doctoral Training Committee, Department of Psychology, Eastern Michigan University
